On November 3, 2018, the 8th National Educational Robot Competition sponsored by the China Association for Artificial Intelligence came to an end in Beihai, Guangxi。Qinglan Mountain school participated for the first time, and made extraordinary efforts - fifth grade Huang Qixuan and Zhou Yunfei won the highest prize of the intelligent car project with full marks;Luo Tianqing and Li Sihan from Grade 5 won the highest prize of the Bullet-free project.Liu Han in Grade three won the first prize of small car fans。

The eighth National Educational Robot Competition is one of the larger scale and higher specifications of various robot competitions in recent years。The finals attracted more than 100 schools and more than 1,000 students from 23 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country。

Our school decided to register three weeks before the competition, and since the registration began, the players began to prepare for the competition。In the case of not affecting the normal class, the players often use the noon break and the time after school to prepare for the game with the teacher。The preparation did not go as smoothly as expected。The parts of the robot are many and complex, for primary school students, it is fresh to build once in a while, but the repeated and repeated process, coupled with the pain brought by the constant pressing and pulling out the parts during the construction process, is the time to test perseverance and patience。For the players, the tougher part is the programming。Due to the many uncontrollable factors in the competition, the players and their teachers discussed no less than 5 programming schemes for one of the competition items - "no bullets", and finally found the optimal solution after hundreds of experiments。Unexpectedly, in the first two days of going to the North Sea, the thought that the foolproof scheme, the test process and sudden situation, the previous optimal scheme unexpectedly can not complete the task of the race。Although a little retreat, but still no one said to give up, teachers and students urgent discussion until 10 p.m., re-rewrite the program, another way, and simple test success。The next day, the players continued to test according to the new scheme, and sure enough, the efforts of everyone were not wasted, and the success rate of completing the task increased from 50% to more than 80%!Everyone was excited and confident to get on the train to the North Sea。After arriving at the hotel, the players were still thinking about the test, lying on the open space in the hotel lobby, testing again and again, rehearsing again and again, and improving the success rate again and again until it was very late。

The game has officially begun!The third grade girl Liu Han calmly completed the "Little car fan" competition project and won the first prize of this project。Fifth grade Huang Qixuan and Zhou Yunfei team to participate in the "smart car" project also won the first prize with full marks。However, when carrying out the "shot blank" project, due to lack of experience in the competition, Luo Tianqing and Li Sihan did not clean up the bullets left over from the previous round of competition in time, resulting in obstacles for the robot, missing a target, and losing 10 points, and missing the full mark。Thought Han on the spot on the sad tears。Then Huang Qixuan and Zhou Yunfei participated in the same project, actually made the same mistake as their teammates - did not clean the runway bullets, resulting in the robot stuck, unable to complete the race。This is the biggest regret of this competition, and I believe it is also the most precious experience of the players。

At the end of the game, although there is a little regret, but our Tianqing and Sihan still won the first place with 90 points, and successfully got the highest award of the "bullet" project - special prize!With excitement but not without regret, the teachers and students took back the trophy, and summed up the experience and lessons in time to lay a more solid foundation for the next campaign。

Looking back on the whole preparation and competition process, there are tears and loss when the children fail, there is the stubbornness and tenacity that do not give up, and there is laughter and joy after success。This is a complete game, and children can only really grow through this experience。At the same time, there is the strong support of the parents of the players and the importance of the school leadership team to the competition and the safety of the game, Qinglan Mountain students, parents, teachers with one heart and one mind, Qinglan Mountain will flourish。
